Easter Weekend

mswp_ReleaseDepressionI came across the following quote today and thought it was perfect for this Easter weekend.   It reminds us that we can be transformed by the renewing of our minds.  Also, it connects us to the knowing that at our very center lies our empowerment.  Withins us , at our very core is peace, hope, joy and love.   To revel in this understanding that as we set aside the ego and all its concerns, we connect to Higher Self.  Thus, we are transported beyond our perceived limitations and into a world filled with our greatest desires and hopes:

“Easter is not a  time for groping through dusty, musty tomes or tombs to disprove spontaneous generations or eve to prove life eternal.  It is a day to fan the ashes of dead hope, a day to banish doubt and seek the slopes where the sun is rising, to revel in the faith which transports us our of ourselves and the dead past into the vast and inviting unknown.” – Author Unknown, as quoted in the Lewiston Tribune.

Protecting Your Energy

Many times we think of protecting our homes, cars , valuables and so on yet we do not think of protecting our energy.    This is why we may often feel very drained after speaking to a loved one who is “needy” or after being in a crowded mall and other public places.  We do not realize that others are unconsciously ‘plugging ‘ into our energy.   We arrive home feeling exhausted and drained yet unsure as to why we feel this way.   Thus, it is very important that we cleanse our energetic field and ‘plug in’ to refill our depleted stores.

One way to cleanse your home, work environment and car  after a long day is through saging.   You can purchase a sage stick to burn or you can purchase ‘smokeless’ sage that is misted.   Sage cleanses your environment so that you do not pick up the negative energy.   It is important to go into corners with the sage stick or spray —-if burning sage , you will need to open a window and also be very careful putting it out afterwards.   So when saging, go into each corner, starting in the lowest level of the house  and say whatever prayer is most meaning to you as you sage.  Even go behind doors in order to cleanse the energy.

In order to ‘plug in’ and replenish ourselves, it is also important to be centered and grounded. You can imagine a grounding cord that starts at the base of your spine and travels all the way down to the center of the earth.  Anchor the cord into the center of the earth and release all drain, worry, fear, anxiety, stress, unfinished projects, anyone pulling at your energy etc.  Breathe deeply and slowly as you do this and then imagine that the grounding cord is flexible and goes with you throughout the day.  In this way, you continually release down the grounding cord any negativity and pull up the nourishing  energy of the earth through the cord.

Finally,  after cleansing and grounding, it is very important to shield ourselves.  This can be done in many ways , you can imagine a bubble of white light surrounding you , or a golden net which allows only positive energy to flow in or out  or a column of light that surrounds you completely.   In this way, you can go about your day and feel the protection of this Divine White Light.   It provides a sense of boundaries so that your energy is not drained by others.  You will feel more energetic and able to love others even more as you come from this daily  place of feeling centered, grounded, protected and safe.

Monday’s Musings

As Anais Nin once stated: “There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”   I think of this quote quite often as I witness my lovely clients during their transition through their healing journey.  Many times, they describe this transitional period as having ‘one foot in each world.”   That is, it is too painful to return to the old, outdated ways of thinking/doing , yet the ‘new’ healthy way is not familiar and may appear risky.   Yet this new , positive way of being becomes more comfortable as  the hypnotic process  is  very gentle and subtle.  It works by changing attitudes, beliefs, habits and perceptions.  Thus, very gently  one begins to step into the new way of being , one gentle step at a time.  Allowing the subconscious mind to open just as a blossom opens the rays of the sun.  Removing those painful blocks to growth and beginning to build upon beautiful resources and strengths that had always lay within.   Retaining all this new found wisdom and healing , bringing it forth into all aspects of their daily lives in ways that are very safe ,appropriate and comfortable.  They discover that the ‘blossoming’ into why they really are is definitely worth any perceived risks.  It is a journey each deserves to take as the path leads to the opening of one’s Path , Purpose and Passion.

Renew Your Mind, Renew Your Life

Who am I ?   Why can’t I reach my goals in life? What is that will make me truly happy? How can I cope with this ?   These questions, among others, are those we ask ourselves at some point in our lives. Sometimes these questions come up spontaneously , other times they are triggered by a significant or traumatic life event. We begin to wonder who we really are beneath the layers of old resentments, stories, expectations of others, hurts, injustices, trauma and so forth.   These questions beg us to answer what would make me truly happy, content , and fulfilled. What is my true path, purpose and passion? What is the truth within me?

As a psychotherapist specializing in hypnotherapy , I have had the privilege and honor of guiding others to healing and transformation.   Through my experience, I have found hypnosis to be an invaluable tool in assisting others to transform their lives in very powerful, positive and meaningful ways.

Hypnosis, very simply put, is a very relaxed but focused state of mind. The hypnotherapist does not ‘put you into a trance’ but guides the client into a very relaxed, calm and peaceful state of mind. Whether I am teaching others in person or through the written word, or seeing a client for the first time , the most important point I emphasize is that one is always in control during the hypnotic process. Also, hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of mind For example, we all experience a trance state when we are daydreaming, engrossed in a good novel, play , or movie or perhaps experiencing ‘highway hypnosis’ when driving long distances. We shut out the outside world and get lost in our reverie.

As one relaxes deeply in hypnosis, the critical factor of the mind is set aside so that one can focus deeply on the healing suggestions. Hypnosis is a very subtle tool. It works by changing attitudes, beliefs, habits, and perceptions.

Through the years as I have worked with others, I realized the truth within was buried beneath layers of anger, hurt, judgment, trauma, resentment and past negative experiences. When we go within during hypnosis, we are accessing the subconscious mind and guiding it to remove blocks, thus beginning to build upon beautiful resources , strengths and capabilities that were within all along.

As we clear out these blocks which were preventing one from loving and accepting self, those previous negative experiences are cleared.   We are then free to create new positive , healing and loving messages. This leads us to understand our true selves, our true purpose , passion and mission which were beneath the previous layers of pain , negativity and fear.

We are free to renew our minds with good uplifting and nurturing thoughts , feelings and beliefs.   Those based on self love, self worth, self value, and self esteem. We can transform and renew our lives through the renewing of our mind.   As the inner and outer self align, new possibilities begin to open up and life becomes filled with exciting possibilities.
